Rising 200 metres above the surrounding jungle, Sigiriya's ancient rock fortress is Sri Lanka's most iconic landmark. Built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century AD, it features remarkable frescoes, mirror-polished walls, and a summit palace with panoramic views. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved examples of ancient urban planning in the world.
